Sport nazionale Islandese – Glima

Il Glima è lo sport nazionale dell'Islanda.

Nel corso dei secoli si è evoluto passando da prese rozze fino a diventare uno sport che richiede grande abilità e tecnica.

Il Glima è una lotta etnica dove gli sfidanti rimangono in posizione verticale e mettono in pratica tattiche sofisticate per mettere l'avversario al suolo eseguendo movimenti simili a una danza.

Le tecniche di base sono otto e possono essere attuate in innumerevoli modi.

Glima the national sport of Iceland

Glima is the national sport of Iceland and has co-existed with the nation since its commonwealth.

During the centuries, the Glima has progressed from primitive grips to a demanding, technical and skilful sport.

Glima is ethnic grips wrestling where pursuers remain upright and while following a dance like movement they will use skillful techniques to put their opponent to the ground.

The basic techniques are eight and they can be done in countless ways.
